Editing Tips

  • As every image is different, it's important to remember that presets are not a 1-click solution, but a great starting point to speed up your editing workflow and bring you closer to your desired look.
  • After applying a preset I highly recommend adjusting some basic settings such as exposure and white balance (temperature & tint), according your shooting conditions.
  • If the preset appears too strong, you can adjust the intensity of the effect using the "Amount" slider within the presets panel of Lightroom.
  • If your camera or phone has the ability to shoot RAW, I would always recommend using this feature as it gives you much more flexibility for editing.

Tips for Using LUTs

  • After applying a LUT I highly recommend adjusting some basic settings such as exposure and white balance (temperature & tint), according your shooting conditions.
  • I would also recommend turning down the intensity of the LUT to begin with, slowly increasing it until you get the look you are happy with.
  • If your camera or phone has the ability to shoot with a flat colour profile I would always recommend using this feature as it gives you much more flexibility for editing.
  • If you shoot in LOG, the footage will need to be colour corrected first. This can be done easily using a free Rec.709 conversion LUT specific to your camera.
  • As all footage is different, it's important to remember that LUTs are not always a 1-click solution, but a great starting point to speed up your editing workflow and bring you closer to your desired look.
