If you’re planning a dream trip to Seychelles and want to see more than just one island, this itinerary is for you. With 14 days in the Seychelles, you’ll have enough time to experience the best of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue, each offering something completely different.

This Seychelles island hopping itinerary breaks down exactly how to spend 14 days across the three main islands, with suggested activities, travel tips and links to more in-depth guides if you want to dive deeper.

Here’s how I recommend splitting your time 👇

  • Days 1-3: Mahe - Start your trip on the main island with epic hikes and local culture.
  • Days 4-7: Praslin - Explore the famous Anse Lazio, Vallée de Mai and nearby islands on boat trips.
  • Days 8-12: La Digue - Cycle your way through this tiny island and explore the best beaches.
  • Days 13-14: Mahe - Return for two more days of adventure activities and sightseeing before flying out.

Days 1-3: Explore Mahe Island

Mahe is the largest island and the only one with an international airport, so this is where you'll be flying into. I'd recommend starting your 2 week Seychelles trip with 3 days in Mahe, to experience some of it's best activities and nature.

Day 1: Arrive in Seychelles and relax at the beach

Once you've arrived at Seychelles International Airport and settled into your accommodation, head to a nearby beach to explore and grab some food.

We landed in the afternoon, so after we had checked in, we headed out for some lunch and spent some time at Beau Vallon Beach.

Day 2: Explore Victoria, Mission Lodge & Tea Factory

Start day 2 in Victoria, one of the world’s smallest capitals. Visit the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market, Seychelles National Museum and Seychelles Botanical Gardens.

In the afternoon, head into the hills for incredible views from Mission Lodge, a historic site that has one of the best views in Mahe.

After, visit the Seychelles Tea Factory to see how local tea is produced and enjoy a cup with panoramic views.

Day 3: Hike the Copolia or Morne Blanc Trail or 4x4 Adventure

For an adventurous day, do one of Mahe’s best hiking trails like the Copolia Trail or Morne Blanc for epic views over the coastline and jungle.

Alternatively, take a 4x4 off-road and mangrove kayaking tour through the island’s lush interior to see less-visited viewpoints. We did our tour with White Sands Adventures which we highly recommend!

Days 4-7: Discover Praslin Island

Days 4-7 are for exploring the Seychelles' second largest island, which is home to some of the best beaches and nature reserves.

Day 4: Travel to Praslin + Beach Time

On the morning of day 4, take the ferry or a short domestic flight from Mahe to Praslin. After checking into your hotel, spend the afternoon on the island’s famous Anse Lazio, ranked as one of the best beaches in the world. It's the perfect spot to swim, snorkel or take some photos of the stunning landscape.

Day 5: Vallée de Mai & Anse Georgette

On day 5, head to Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the rare Coco de Mer palm. Wander through the ancient forest and spot the unique plant species and wildlife.

In the afternoon, head to Anse Georgette, one of Praslin’s most secluded and beautiful beaches. Access is limited as it's in the Constance Lemuria Resort, but you just need to book in advance (it's free).

Day 6: Island Hopping from Praslin

Join a full-day boat tour of the nearby Curieuse and St. Pierre Islands. Meet giant Aldabra tortoises on Curieuse Island, snorkel over coral reefs and enjoy a beach BBQ lunch. These island-hopping tours are a must while in the Seychelles!

Day 7: Relax or go Scuba Diving / Snorkelling

On your final day on Praslin, either relax at a beach like Côte d’Or Beach which is perfect for swimming and water activities. Or, if Scuba Diving interests you, Praslin has some of the clearest waters around the Seychelles, so it's the perfect place to discover the underwater world.

If you want a more in-depth itinerary for Praslin, check out our 2 days in Praslin guide.

Days 8-12: Explore La Digue Island

Days 8-12 are all about exploring the laid-back island of La Digue, the fourth largest island.

Day 8: Travel to La Digue + Settle In

In the morning, catch the 15 minute ferry from Praslin to La Digue. The island is car-free, so the best way to explore is by bicycle. Spend the day at L’Union Estate, a former coconut and vanilla plantation that has giant Aldabra tortoises, and access to one of the most photogenic beaches, Anse Source d’Argent.

Here, you can explore and photograph the beautiful beach, swim in the shallow turquoise waters and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Day 9: Anse Marron Hiking Adventure

We highly recommend doing a guided hike to Anse Marron, one of the island’s most remote and beautiful beaches.

We did this with Sunny Trail Guide and absolutely loved it; the route winds along the coast and through jungle paths, with plenty of rock scrambling and epic views.

If you prefer something more relaxed, consider hiking to Anse Cocos, a less demanding but equally scenic jungle walk to a stunning remote beach.

Day 10: Grand Anse, Petite Anse & Anse Cocos

Spend the day by exploring the southeast coast of La Digue. Start with biking to Grand Anse, then hike over the hill to Petite Anse and continue to Anse Cocos if you didn’t visit it yesterday.

These beaches are wild, dramatic and often empty, just be cautious with swimming, as currents can be strong.

Day 11: Water Activities

On day 11, do some fun water activities around Anse Source d’Argent or Anse Severe, the calmest beaches for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking.

Transparent kayaking is one of the best activities in the Seychelles, it's an incredible way to explore the area.

If you want to do something more exciting, La Digue also has several amazing scuba diving sites worth exploring!

Day 12: Chill Day and head back to Mahe

Take it slow on your last full day by revisiting your favourite spots or relaxing by the pool, before heading back to Mahe.

I'd recommend getting the last ferry of the day back to Mahe, so you can be ready for a boat trip the next day. The last ferry departs at 4:30 pm.

For a more detailed guide to La Digue, make sure to read our 2 day La Digue itinerary.

Days 13-14: Back to Mahe for a final few days

Days 13-14 are spent back on Mahe to do some last minute exploring and relaxing.

Day 13: Day Trip to Moyenne Island

One of the best boat trips from Mahe is Moyenne Island, a small island in Sainte Anne Marine National Park. Just a short ferry from Mahe, Moyenne Island has free-roaming giant tortoises, crystal clear waters and a beautiful coastal trail.

The boat tour we did included snorkelling stops, a BBQ lunch, and a visit to another tiny island on the way back.

Day 14: Final Activity or Relax Before Departure

Depending on your flight time, you can squeeze in one last activity. You could try ziplining at the Constance Ephelia, do another hike, explore Eden Island or just relax at one of the beaches.

Is two weeks enough time for the Seychelles?

Yes! Two weeks is more than enough time to explore the main islands in the Seychelles without feeling rushed. You’ll have time for adventure, beaches and relaxing.

Where to stay for two weeks in the Seychelles?

For a two-week trip, I recommend splitting your time between the three main islands: Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue. For the best areas and hotel recommendations, read our full guide on where to stay in the Seychelles.

When it comes to deciding where to stay in the Seychelles, it can feel overwhelming at first. We stayed on all three of the main islands: Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue, which we highly recommend as each island offers something unique.
