During our trip during Christmas 2021, we explored some of the city’s top spots to eat, and we were blown away by the variety and quality of the food.

Paupys Market

If you’re looking for a casual spot where you can sample a little bit of everything, Paupys Market is the place to be.

Located in the Užupis district, Paupys Market is often described as an ‘indoor urban jungle’, and offers a variety of food stalls with everything from sushi to burgers, and even traditional Lithuanian dishes.

It’s the perfect spot if you’re travelling with friends who all have different tastes, or if you just want to try a bit of everything yourself.

Casa La Familia

For those days when all you want is a delicious pizza in a cosy setting, Casa La Familia has you covered. This family-friendly pizzeria serves up some of the best wood-fired pizzas in the city, with a menu that offers both classic and creative topping combinations.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a laid-back meal after a day of exploring the city. Don’t forget to save room for dessert, try their homemade cakes, puddings and ice cream!

Blue Lotus

For a taste of Asia in Vilnius, Blue Lotus is the perfect place to satisfy your taste buds. With a menu consisting of Indian and Thai dishes, you can expect meals to be packed with fresh ingredients and aromatic spices, from spicy curries to delicious noodle dishes.

Džiaugsmas

If you’re in the mood to experience modern Lithuanian cuisine at its finest, Džiaugsmas is the place to be. Awarded a Michelin star in 2024, this restaurant has earned its reputation as one of the best in Vilnius, known for its creative take on traditional Lithuanian dishes.

The menu changes with the seasons, focusing on local, fresh ingredients, but you can expect dishes that are beautifully presented and bursting with flavour.

The restaurant’s moody, industrial interior also adds to the ambiance, making it an ideal spot for foodies looking for something unique and sophisticated.

14 Horses

For a dining experience that combines elegance with a farm-to-table ethos, 14 Horses is a must-visit. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients, from their own regenerative farm and other small farmers; enabling them to create seasonal dishes.

The minimalist yet cosy restaurant earned a Bib Gourmand Award thanks to its quality food at a reasonable price. Whether you’re trying their modern take on Lithuanian classics or sampling something entirely new, you’re in for an unforgettable meal.

Gaspar’s

Gaspar’s brings a fusion of European and Indian flavours to Vilnius, with a small but carefully curated menu presenting a blend of bold spices and delicate ingredients.

Chef Gaspar Fernandes, originally from Goa, infuses his dishes with a modern twist on Indian and portuguese flavours, which has earned him a Michelin Bib Gourmand Award.
